How do I install DealGift?
Open the Shopify App Store listing, click Add app, approve permissions, then launch DealGift from Apps in admin. Follow the onboarding checklist to connect billing and your first deal.
Which Shopify plans are supported?
DealGift targets standard Shopify stores using Online Store sales channels. Confirm any Plus-specific needs (checkout branding, B2B) with support before launch.
Will DealGift work with my theme?
DealGift uses Shopify’s theme app extension surface, compatible with Online Store 2.0 themes. Vintage themes may require manual integration—send your theme handle to hello@dealgift.app for a quick review.
Do I need a developer?
Merchants can configure deals without code. You’ll need theme access once to place the extension or adjust placement in the theme editor.
How does billing work?
Charges run through Shopify’s app billing APIs. Admins with billing permissions can change plans inside the embedded app. On the pricing page, the crossed-out price is the regular rate; the introductory rate beside it is what we’re charging today. Shopify always shows the exact amount for your store. Your App Store listing should match.
What happens if I uninstall?
DealGift disconnects from your store, removes app-owned embeds, and stops applying discounts. We delete or anonymize app-held merchant data within a reasonable period after uninstall—see data retention in our privacy policy. Order and customer records in Shopify stay with Shopify under their terms.
Where is my data processed?
DealGift is operated from the United Kingdom. We process data in our own systems and with vetted providers (for example cloud hosting, logging, and email) described as subprocessors in our privacy policy.
Your store still runs on Shopify; they process checkout and customer data under their policies. DealGift only receives what Shopify’s APIs share so we can run deals, rules, and related app logic. If data leaves the UK, we use approved transfer mechanisms as described under International data transfers in the privacy policy.
Are you GDPR-ready?
We design DealGift with UK GDPR in mind: lawful bases, retention, security measures, subprocessors, and your data subject rights are set out in our privacy policy. We do not sell personal information.
For access, correction, deletion, or other requests, email hello@dealgift.app—we respond within the timelines described there. Merchants who need a data processing agreement or the current subprocessor list should use the same address. You can also contact the UK ICO.
How do I get support?
Email hello@dealgift.app or use the details on our contact page. Include your myshopify.com domain, what you were trying to do, and any error text or screenshots. Mention your plan (Free, Basic, or Pro / Pro Plus when available)—response times and priority follow what we publish in the app and on DealGift’s Shopify App Store listing.
Can I target deals to logged-in customers or guests only?
Yes, on Basic and above. Each deal has a Who sees this deal setting with three options: All visitors (default), Logged-in customers only, or Guests only. The storefront checks this on every cart change—so if a shopper signs in mid-session, a Logged-in only deal can start applying right away. On Free, deals always run for all visitors.
Can DealGift run alongside other discount apps?
Usually, yes. DealGift only adds free-gift lines and uses a Shopify discount function to zero them out at checkout—it does not issue coupon codes or touch catalog prices. That keeps it compatible with most coupon and percentage-off apps. Still, any two discount apps can interact in unexpected ways: test in a preview theme, set per-deal stacking rules in DealGift, and email support if you see overlapping cart behavior.
Do you support headless storefronts?
Headless setups vary. Share your storefront architecture so we can confirm compatibility with cart endpoints and discount functions.
How quickly can we launch?
After install, turn on the theme app embed in the theme editor and create your first deal. Many merchants can have their first free-gift deal live in under five minutes. Bigger catalogs, custom placement, or extra QA can add time—we’re happy to help if you’re on a tight deadline.
